Time most certainly does fly and its never been more true than in the past 6 months. A lot of my time was spent prepping for the move out west and then since new years I have been getting myself situated and making assignments my top priority. Today is no different but instead I have decided to share some photographs that I’ve taken here in California. Its really a great change of scenery compared to back home in New York and I am excited for the coming months on many levels. Be sure to check back soon for updates.. Apocalypse Now

Tis the season, what season you might ask? The season where the real storms kick ass and take names. This could be in the form of hurricanes or in the form of viscous isolated thunderstorms that pop up out of nowhere on a beautiful sunny summer day and wreak havoc on the town that you live in. Seeing that it has been a month and a half since I have posted to my blog I thought a storm related post might be in order since the last post I made about a little lightning got an awesome response. These images fall into the same category minus the “little” part. There was nothing little about this storm. Here is my small collection of the most electrically charged storm I have ever witnessed.

Another crazy thunderstorm bombarded Long Island with lightening this evening. This storm made the last seem like a light drizzle in comparison. I managed to capture one or two decent shots of the insane lightening bolts that were touching down all around the house. I stuck to shooting through a window again because like the last this storm caught me off guard and I didn’t have an outdoor vantage point scoped out ahead of time. It has proven to be very difficult to capture the best ones, but this one that struck down in the bay only 100 yards away looks pretty sick! Enjoy.

Skating is cool from a photographers stand point because you can shoot it at any time of the day anywhere and even inside if you have a sweet local skate park. I have been shooting some skateboarding every now and then when I get a chance and its fun because it doesn’t require a hurricane or cooperative winds. Below are a few shots that i took while messing around with my cameras stock flash. Unfortunately I did not have my external flash on hand but there will most certainly be… a next time. All shots by yours truly and the skater is Trevor LeCaros, my usual subject when it comes to skating, he is always down and he is a really well rounded skater with a bag of some super technical tricks. Lightening Lit

Crazy storm rolled in tonight. Only got my camera setup toward the tail end and had to shoot through a window and torrential downpours, but I got this shot. There was some really spectacular bolts touching down all over the place… until I pulled out my camera, figures. This is the first time I have ever tried shooting lightening, I promise it wont be the last time.

This past weekend I met up with an old friend of mine who is really into cars, sort of like me. He showed me a sick spot to shoot that I had always overlooked in the past, in return I let him use a couple of lenses to get a feel for what hes lookin’ to buy next. I only attached my images in this post since it is my blog, but his name is Chris Amodei and he is a regular contributor to the site IvyLeagueEast.com which is where you will find a lot of his work. This is Chris’ Slammed Honda S2000…. It’s got about an inch and a half of clearance hence the term “slammed”

The blogs have been pretty slow lately, it’s not that I haven’t been shooting photographs, just distant location from the headquarters has made it difficult to post on the road. I just got home from a 11 day trip up to the northern latitudes of Vermont riding feet of powder almost every day. There has been a lot of skepticism by others as to what we would find up north in Smugglers Notch, but we knew what awaited us. Check out a couple of pictures of mountains we visited on this trip. The Snow was unreal!

So in 2011 it was decided that the New York giants would not be making it into the playoffs. This became apparent after a chain of events that happened in the last 3 games of their season. It started with the 4th quarter Eagles rally that was coordinated by Michael Vick which scored the Eagles 4 touchdowns in about seven minutes including the final kick return by Jackson for the game winning Touchdown with no time left on the clock. After this monumental upset, The Giants lost again to the Green Bay Packers the following week which meant they had to win their game against the Redskins the week after and Greenbay had to lose to the Chicago Bears, not likely. Anyways we still have a good amount of teams worth watching this year as the 2011 Superbowl XLV gets closer and closer. I attached an image from the year of the Giants who could, but didn’t.
